Mission and Vision

Mission:

Protect the material inheritance of the "Instituto Oswaldo Cruz Yellow Fever Collection", composed of liver samples collected during the thirties and seventies, from all over Brazil and from some nearby countries; scientifically promote this Collection; and search for development opportunities and collaborative activities focused on scientific research within the collection, both for biological and documental research.

Vision:

Restructure, organise and modernise the materials of the Yellow Fever Collection, transforming it in an informal tool for teaching and learning, and for scientific knowledge sharing among visitors. Develop multidisciplinary research within the materials of the collection, seeking for national and international partnerships.
